An author who acts/ An actor who writes

Dr. Emir Cruz Fernández

Emir Cruz Fernández is a novelist building an interconnected cycle of works exploring memory, myth, exile, and ethical inheritance across time.

His fiction moves between the Caribbean, New York City, and antiquity, tracing how lives echo across generations, cities, and bodies. Through recurring motifs of reincarnation, duty, and remembrance, his novels form a unified moral architecture rather than standalone narratives.

He is also the author of Muslims of Spain (Firebird and Pinnacle Book Award Winner), Marvel Education (2023), and The Stoic Educator (2024).

Cruz Fernández holds a Ph.D. in Spanish Golden Age Literature from the CUNY Graduate Center and has studied literature, theater, languages, and performance in the United States, Spain, and Yemen. He lives in New York City.
