Background

Cruz Fernández holds a Ph.D. in Spanish Golden Age Literature from the CUNY Graduate Center. His academic training in aljamiado-morisco literature, classical Iberian texts, philosophy, and comparative literary traditions informs the structural and ethical concerns of his fiction, without determining its scope or form.

Based in New York City, he writes deliberately and publishes selectively in service of a unified body of work.
